honesty does not kill you

ye, semalam dah nangis teruk- teruk sebab duit gaji setengah bulan habis untuk bayar ganti rugi langgar kereta orang. hari ni, alhamdulillah, masih boleh senyum. betul, apa yang jadi ada hikmahnya. betul, aku ni cepat sangat putus asa. padahal, rahmatTuhan tu cukup banyak. 

I've learnt a huge lesson yesterday. Soal sejauh mana kau mampu jadi jujur dengan diri sendiri, dengan orang lain. aku mengaku, lepas aku langgar kereta dia, aku lari dulu. dan aku penat fikirkan alasan kenapa aku boleh patah balik, padahal kalau aku just lari, tak ada orang akan tahu pun. and today, I get to know why. Honesty does not kill you, guilt did.  dan aku, aku mengaku kat owner kereta tu, not for his sake, but for mine. I chose not to live by regretting my past.

I've given him some money for the repair. it feels good now. and there is yet to come. He fixed my car's bumper, and that saved me a huge amount of money. see? a stranger's kindness. Strangers, to be exact. kau pernah jumpa kan dengan orang macam ni? 3 kali, aku ingat 3 kali tu. Yang pertamanya, ada orang tumpangkan kereta dia nak pergi bandar, yang keduanya bila retainer aku hilang kat KFC dan ketiganya, yang ni. 

Thing might not be the same had I hit other person's car. I might have to pay up to thousand dollars. I might have to deal with police and insurance company, I might get cursed. But really, my conscience would eventually tell me to just admit my fault. and especially when you, yourself know what goes around comes around. in the future, someone might as well hit your car and run away. Tell me, won't you feel bad about it?
